Facts

  • Perhaps because of their initial concept of rotating members—which ended up being dropped—Berryz is the only group that calls its leader “captain” (and sub-leader “sub-captain”).

  • At the Hello! Project 2014 Summer concert on August 2, 2014, it was announced that the group would go on indefinite hiatus in 2015 after their spring concert. They decided on the term hiatus because they did not want Berryz Koubou to cease to exist, but it was expressed as a permanent disbandment.

  • The group was originally intended to have revolving members from Hello! Project・Kids. Eventually, however, the original 8 members were decided to be permanent and the remaining Kids went on to form their own unit, ℃-ute.
