On January 11, 2006 the group announced they would be releasing their 7th single as well as their 3rd album in the coming months. On February 7, just days before Kago’s scandal broke, the titles were announced to be Dou ni mo Tomaranai (どうにもとまらない) for the single, and W3:faithful for the album. Both releases were cancelled due to the scandal.
Though W never got to release their cover of Dou ni mo Tomaranai (どうにもとまらない), the song did make its way into Hello! Project as part of Morning Musume｡’s 2008 album, COVER YOU. It is unknown whether a new arrangement was made for Morning Musume｡ or if it might have borrowed from W’s version.
After her first smoking scandal, Kago was suspended from Hello! Project on February 10, 2006 with the possibility of returning sometime later. However, as she went on to be dismissed from the company the following year after another scandal, W never did get a chance to resume activities.
