Facts
Though harder to read, the name Mobekimasu has sometimes been romanized on official products as Mobecumas or M。Be℃MaS to better represent the group names that each syllable represents. However, in these cases the name is still pronounced as mobekimasu.
The name Mobekimasu had previously been used as the title of the Hello! Project 2010 Winter concert. The concert was announced on August 14, 2009 (though the title wasn’t made public until September 25, 2009). By the time Hello! Project Mobekimasu was announced in August 2011, fans were already familiar with the name.
Hello! Project Mobekimasu is considered a supergroup – it is made up of all major Hello! Project acts at the time of the its creation: Morning Musume。, Berryz Koubou, ℃-ute, Mano Erina, and S/mileage. As is customary in Japan, artists within the same company or industry are listed in order of seniority (which is determined by the date of their debut).
The name Mobekimasu (モベキマス) is formed from the first syllable of every artist within the group, in order of seniority: Mo for Morning Musume。, be for Berryz Koubou, ki for ℃-ute (pronounced キュート or kyuuto), ma for Mano Erina, and su for S/mileage (pronounced スマイレージ or sumaireeji).
Kosuga Fuyuka withdrew from S/mileage due to health reasons on September 10, 2011, and subsequently was no longer able to participate in the supergroup. However, she does appear in the Busu ni Naranai Tetsugaku music video since it was filmed prior to her withdrawal.
The 10th generation members of Morning Musume。 (Iikubo Haruna, Ishida Ayumi, Satou Masaki, Kudou Haruka) were announced on September 29, 2011 and became Hello! Project Mobekimasu members at that time. They do not appear in the Busu ni Naranai Tetsugaku music video because it had been filmed prior to their addition.
Maeda Yuuka graduated from Hello! Project on December 31st, 2011. Her and fellow S/mileage member Kosuga Fuyuka were the only two members to have graduated before the group name stopped being used (and thus before the group was considered disbanded).
